As we have now entered June, it is so crazy to think of how far I have come this year. I have been trying new things and working on finding my inner peace and joy. So I am going to reflect on what I have learned and what I want from the rest of the year.

First off I have really been looking into different visual arts and have been playing with different mediums. I find that may favorite things to work with right now are watercolor, ink, and acrylic markers. I use watercolor pencils and palettes. I have been working on my travel art kit for when I go out and paint or sketch. I have also been researching urban sketching and really love this genre of art. So I want to start doing that more. Right now I am going to start practicing using reference photos so that I can get more practice in. Acrylic markers are a complete game changer. I love the ease and options I have when working in this medium. So I have been having a great time filling up my sketchbooks and art journals and finding out what works for me.

I have also been learning a lot about philosophy, specifically stoic philosophy. So I really like how it already lines up with so many of how I live my life so diving deeper into this has been really satisfying emotionally and mentally. It also helps me gain a more accurate vocabulary to describe how I feel and see the world. So I would like to look and review some others as well. But I think this is a good starting point and will help me venture out into further areas to study. Philosophy was one of the areas I really enjoyed studying in Humanities, so getting back into it feels really good.

Two things I would like to focus more time on is my YouTube Channel and this blog. I feel like I was putting too much pressure on myself for those two things to be “perfect” but I need to just let them be and start learning. The only way I am going to get better is to actually practice the skills. That means writing blog posts and posting and filming videos and posting. That is the only way I will get better!
